The Castanet concept is part of a broader research project for LG Electronics. One of the more conservative concepts, it’s a folding phone featuring a simple finger loop adding just the right level of flexible tether to the phone. Nothing like this existed on the market. The closed form is strategically tapered, which, when unfolded, creates a waisted shape, feeling incredibly secure in hand when compared to a traditional parallel-sided block. In addition, the ends are surfaced in such a way to facilitate easy one-handed opening.
